Program Director Ashley

Ashley is the owner of Gresham Youth Cheer - she started the program back in 2016 to bring a youth cheer program to the community as she felt it was needed.

She has been connected to the cheer world for over a decade and through that time has become certified for many different things to help benefit her athletes and made connections with other coaches, programs and vendors in the state of OR and WA.

She enjoys dancing and choreographing routines, hiking, being with her heelers, camping, listening to music, going to concerts, horseback riding and cuddling her grandson.

After 4 years at GHS being on the Rhythmettes Cheer and Dance team plus 2 year on GYC, 2 years in All Star Cheer, 3 years of gymnastics and dancing since she was 2 - her time has come to finally coach.

She is working on getting her associates at MHCC in education and will transfer to UofO for her Graduates and Master in Elementary Education to become a teacher.

Coach Paola

Coach Paola has been cheering for five years and had the incredible opportunity to perform in the New Year’s Day Parade in London as an All-American cheerleader. She was a mentor for two years at Parkrose High School and competed in both traditional cheerleading and the 5A Game Day division throughout high school. Her team placed 5th in the Game Day division at Sherwood, and earned 2nd place in jumps at UCA camp.

Her favorite aspects of cheer are tumbling and stunting, but she also cherishes the strong bond formed with teammates. One of her favorite memories is attending UCA camp during her senior year and the unforgettable team bonding experiences she was fortunate to experience. Cheerleading has taught her discipline both personally and professionally, as well as leadership skills—especially in her role as a co-captain.

Currently, she is working on my prerequisites at MHCC in hopes of pursuing a career as a pediatric dental hygienist at OHSU. Outside of cheer, she loves spending time with friends and family, going camping, hiking, and being with her two dogs, Archie and Lucas.

Her goal at ESYC is to inspire young athletes to keep doing what they love, no matter what challenges they face. She is excited to work with these amazing athletes, watch their progress, and see the excitement on their faces as they master new skills and build lifelong friendships.

Coach Cat

Coach Cat has been with GYC since 2022, she came to us straight out of high school and interviewed days after her 18th birthday. She comes from a small south coastal town so coming to a bigger town was a change but it was worth it to come coach for our athletes.

She has been cheering for a long time and is currently in college to becoming a dentist she is finishing out her undergrad before moving on to med school. She has made a long commute from her university to be a coach and now we will see her as a guest coach as she finishes up her degree.

She enjoys cheer, going to San Francisco, hanging with her friends, being involved in groups at college and being a part of a community.
